Inside the Artsy Moon Paint Club, I guide you step-by-step from a blank surface to a finished artwork in a way that feels calm, clear, and completely doable.
The doors are open until August 27.
Come paint with us.
Painting is one of those things you keep meaning to get back to.
Maybe you've painted with me before. Maybe you've been watching from the sidelines for a whileĀ and you've been telling yourself you'll start again when things settle down.
Either way, you're in the right spot.
The Artsy Moon Paint Club is where painting becomes a realityĀ instead of a someday because we make it easy for you to get painting right away. Over 200 step-by-step tutorials, all built on the same six practices, ready whenever you have an hour and the urge to make something.
The hard part usually isn't the painting.Ā
You finally have a free evening.
But then you have to figure out what to paint, and find a photo to work from, guess at the colors, sketch it out, and dig around forĀ a brush that isn't crusty.Ā
By the time all that's done you're tired and it's late.
Ā So the evening goes by and you don't paint. Then it's a month.
Ā
Ā
There's the other reason too, the one that's harder to admit to yourself.
Carving out a couple ofĀ hours toĀ paint can feel like something you have to earn first. The laundry isn't done. Somebody needs something.
Painting is the easiest thing on the list to cut, because it's the only thing on there that's just for you.
But an hour or two where nobody needs anything from you does more than it looks like it does. You come back to everything else steadier and calmer. That's not a small thing and it took me a long time to believe it.
I built the Club to take care of the first part.
You open the library, pick a design that makes you happy, print the tracer, and start. The deciding is done. The setup is done. All that's left is the good part.
Inside the Club, every design comes with everything you need to sit down and go.
ā A step-by-step video where I paint it with you
ā Printable tracers in multiple sizes
ā Photo instructions you can prop up next to your canvas
ā A supply list
ā Reference photos
Most designs take about one to threeĀ hours (depending on the painter). You can pause me, rewind me, and paint at whatever speed you want to go. Nobody is waiting on you.
And when you finish, there's a placeĀ to shareĀ it if you want. Our private group is full of painters who want to see what you made, which turns out to be a bigger deal than it sounds.
Over 200 designs are in there right now. I add at least two new ones every month.
AĀ Little About Me
I never took an art class. Not in high school, not in college. I was scared I would be bad at it, so I just didn't.
I was a school librarian instead, surrounded by picture books and fairytales. One winter I was travelingĀ through the Smoky Mountains with my aunt, who is an artist, and I said something about how there's still color in the trees in January. How I could see purple and blue in them. She told me I had an artistic eye.
That was the first time I ever thought that I could be an artist. I took my first art class in my forties. A few years later I was the one teaching them.
Ā
So when someone tells me they don't think they're an artist, I know exactly how that feels.
Ā
I've got decades of teaching thousands of students, both kids and adults. Working with kids teaches you fast how to break something complicated into small pieces. That's all my tutorials are. Small steps, in order, and me explainingĀ why each one matters.Ā
That's the Artsy Moon Method. Six practices that come back in every painting until they're yours.
Ā
I loveĀ that the lessons are digital so I can do them on my own time!
I don't have time to go somewhere to learn in-person. And I love the step-by-step format. So easy to succeed!Ā I am loving the results!
Painting helps me to de-stress. Iām a public school teacher and I really look forward to having a little āmeā time where I can just have fun. It's also fun to paint these designs with friends!
Ā Rhoda L.Ā Ā
Karen is so personable and supportive of each member of her group. She answers your questions with patience and humor. Each new design is "your absolute favorite" until the next one comes out. She encourages you to learn each new skill but is not afraid to laugh at herself, show us that she messes up as well and then proceeds to show us how to fix it. You can paint along or use the replay to paint at your own pace. The step-by-step directions are fabulous. The group as a whole is just amazing.

Ā
I like that your club is video based.
I can watch the tutorial, watch it again, and watch it again to get a good understanding of what to do.
You are cheerful, fun, and sound very friendly.
You talk to us like we are in the room with you. You sound like one of the girls and that makes it a fun time.

I love everything about the Club andĀ how laid back Karen is!
I appreciate the multiple design options offered. Karen provides tracers in so many different sizes and options! She often creates them for both door hangers and canvases so we have choices in how our art turns out.
Everything is super organized and I love our community and how welcoming and helpful everyone is.

New to Painting?
Maybe you've tried before.
You bought the supplies. You sat down excited. And then you froze. What color do I use? Why doesn't mine look right? What did I do wrong?
Instead of relaxing, you feltĀ frustrated. Instead of finishing, you stopped.
You didn't fail. You just didn't have anyone showing you the order in which to do things.
That's what a tutorial is for. I show you the order, step by step, and tell you why each layer goes down before the next one. Follow along exactly and you'll finish with something you're proud of, probably faster than you expect.
But you don't have to follow me exactly. Use the paint you already have. Swap my blue for the green you love. Add a bird, skip the fence, make the sky pink because pink is what you're in the mood for. I'll tell you what I'm using and why, and then it's yours to play with. I love to see what my members come up with!
Either way it comes out beautifully. That's kind of the whole point.
Ā
The Artsy Moon Methodā¢
Every tutorial runs on the same six practices. They come back so often they stop feeling like instructions and start feeling like instinct.
See Simply. Painting gets easier once you stop seeing a mountain and start seeing a shape.
Trust the Layers. Your first layer will look wrong. It's supposed to.
Notice the Magic. A highlight, a shadow, a few dots of light. Small things, finished painting.
Paint Courageously. The messy middle is where most people quit. Knowing it's coming gets you through it.
Make It Yours. Use the colors you have. Change what you want.
Keep Creating. Confidence doesn't come from one painting. It comes from the next one.
You'll Have Somewhere to Share Your Artwork
Finishing a painting alone at nine at night is lovely. But then you're standing there holding it, and the people in your house say "nice" and go back to what they were doing. Most of us don't have anyone around who's excited about a well-blended sky.
But we do!
Many members post their paintings in our private Facebook group and get comments from people who know exactly how hard that one part was.
It's also where you go when something goes sideways with your painting. Your background dries muddy, your tree looks like broccoli, you can't get the eyes right. Post a photo and ask. Somebody has painted that exact design and knows how to fix it. I'm in the group most days, too!
Plenty of members never post and just read, and you can skip Facebook entirely if it's not your thing, because every resource lives in the member library.
No comparing, no drama, no keeping score.Ā We're just a bunch of people who love painting together!
Most of these painters once thought they werenāt artistic.
Running a Creative Business?
About one in five of our members uses these designs in their own business, and they're welcome to.
As long as you're a member in good standing, you can teach these paintings at your in-person and online parties, build them into kits, and sell the art you create from them. Craft shows, paint parties, workshops, all of it.
Having designs ready to go saves you the part of the job most party hosts dread, which is figuring out what to paint next month.

Having beautiful designs to market is such a time saver for me. I can schedule online and in person painting events without having to rack my brain for what to paint all the time.
Rose, The Painted Toad
Karen's designs, instructions, format, and love for painting has really helped me grow as a painter to better able to offer better quality paint parties.Ā This is a great club, where there is no drama. Just honest support from your painting community.

Still wondering if this will work for you?
Here are quick answers to the most common questions.
I'm a beginner. Will I be lost?
No. I guide you step by step and include tracers when they help, so you always know what comes next.
I'm short on time.
Paint whenever it fits. Most designs run one to three hours and you can split that across a few evenings if you want.
What if I'm slower than everyone else or I fall behind?Ā
You can't fall behind, because there's nothing to keep up with. Rewind, pause, walk away for a month, come back. The library sits there waiting, and everything in it stays available for as long as you're a member.
Is it worth it?Ā
While you're a member, you get 200+ designs, brand new ones every month, and a system that gets you good results again and again, for less than most single classes cost.
Are supplies included?Ā
No, but every tutorial comes with a list. Most members start with what they already have.Ā If you begin from nothing, you can use basic brushes and paints to get started and we provide a supply list for every tutorial.
Is every design available for both canvas and door hangers?Ā
It depends on the design. I usually teach on canvas, and when it works well I make tracers for both so you have options.
Do I need experience?Ā
None. Plenty of members join convinced they aren't artistic and surprise themselves.Ā
Where do I watch?Ā
Inside our private member site on our Kajabi website, or in the Kajabi app.
Can I cancel?Ā
Yes, anytime before your renewal date. Update your subscription inside your account, or email [email protected] at least three business days ahead.
Your membership stays active through the time you've paid for. Because you get access to the whole library the moment you join, the current billing period isn't refundable, and access ends when your membership does.
Do I have to use Facebook?Ā
No. The community lives in a private Facebook group. All resources are in the member libraryĀ on the website.
Can I use this for my creative business?
Yes! Members regularly teach these designs at parties and sell the art they create.
Here are ourĀ Usage & Rights Guidelines.
Anything else, email [email protected] and we'll help.
šĀ A Note from Me
Hi friend,
If you've felt that creative tug, I hope you'll listen to it.
Painting is about more than what you end up with on the canvas. It gives you an hour that belongs to you, where nobody needs anything and you get to make something beautiful just because you feel like it. This matters more than it sounds like it should, especially when everything else is fighting for your attention.
One painting will surprise you. But it's the next one, and the one after that, where something really changes. You stop wondering whether you can do this and start deciding what you want to make.
That's why I built this club, to make painting easy enough that it actually happens.
I'd love to have you paint with us.
Karen
