I never took art in school because I was scared I’d be bad at it.
Then I fell in love with painting at paint nights in my forties, and little by little, I went from nervous beginner to art teacher.
So I built the Artsy Moon Paint Club to make that path easy for you.
So the evening goes by and you don't paint. Then it's a month.

Hundreds of designs are waiting, and I add at least two new ones every month. If your paints are easy to get to, you can be painting in about ten minutes.

I break each painting into small steps, in order, and tell you why each one matters. Years of working with kids taught me how to do that, and it works just as well for grown-ups.

Little by little, the painting starts to take shape, and we encourage you not to give up, even during the messy middle.

Six simple habits that make every painting better
You need less time than you think.
Most designs take one to three hours, and you can split that across a few evenings. Pause me, rewind me, put the lids on your paint, and come back tomorrow. Everything stays in the library while you're a member, so you can't fall behind.
But here's the part that took me a long time to believe. An hour where nobody needs anything from you does more than it looks like it does. You come back to everything else steadier and calmer.
Get help and encouragement whenever you're stuck
Finishing a painting alone at nine at night is lovely. But then you're standing there holding it, and the people in your house say 'nice' and go back to what they were doing.
Painting friends to ask
Post a photo in our private group and ask for help. Somebody has painted that exact design. Fellow members, my team and I are in there with ideas, rescues, and cheering you on.

Meet your teacher who was once too scared to try
A little more about me.
Before I ever picked up a brush, I spent years as a school librarian, surrounded by picture books and working with kids. That storybook feeling found its way into my paintings, and it’s still hard to separate my art from it.
The turning point came one winter, driving through the Smoky Mountains. I told my aunt I could see purple and blue in the bare trees, and she said I had an artistic eye. That was the first time I wondered if maybe I could be an artist after all. When I started going to paint nights, I wanted to know why each step worked, so I took art classes and ended up teaching art at my elementary school.
I’ve taught thousands of students since, kids and grown-ups. Breaking a painting into small steps and explaining the why behind each one is what I love most, and it’s how every tutorial in the Club is made.
So when you wonder whether you can do this, I know exactly how that feels and I can confidently tell you that you definitely can do this.
Two new designs every month, plus 200+ waiting in the library for $37.
Paint once a week or once a month, whatever fits your life. Everything stays in the library while you’re a member, so there’s no falling behind.
More paintings for less than one paint night
- A paint and sip night: $35 to $45 for one painting, on someone else's schedule, and often rushed.
- One of my workshops on its own: $10 for one design, and the replay disappears after about a month.
- $27 each, and only about 20 are for sale. Everything else is only in the Club.Â
- The Artsy Moon Paint Club: $37 a month for hundreds of designs, two new ones every month, free seats at my workshops with replays that stay in your library, and me and a friendly community to help when you get stuck.
- As long as you're a member, the whole library is yours, including the designs you can't get anywhere else, for less than the price of two designs bought on their own.
